Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ReelVenue Inc. ("ReelVenue," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SetDots film-set coordination application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
ReelVenue Inc. is a California corporation. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, and includes disclosures required under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account — with Google, Apple, Microsoft, or an email address and password — we receive your name (where available), email address, and a profile identifier. You may add a display name, a separate shared contact email, phone number, role, and — if you choose — dietary restrictions, allergies, and accessibility needs. You can also view a shared shoot as a guest without an account.
- Production content. Projects, shoots, schedules, scenes, call sheets, cast & crew rosters, locations, chat messages, reports, incident logs, and time cards that you or your collaborators enter.
- Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by PayPal. We do not receive or store your full card or bank details; we retain a subscription identifier and your plan status.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as browser type, device identifiers for push notifications, and log data needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Location text you enter. Addresses you type for shoots are sent to mapping and weather providers to return suggestions, coordinates, and forecasts.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its real-time coordination features.
- To authenticate you, manage your subscription, and enforce account permissions.
- To send operational messages and, where enabled, push notifications and alerts.
- To respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
3. Service Providers & Sharing
We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf to run the Service, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, and functions), PayPal (payments), SendGrid (sending call sheets and notification emails), Pusher (push notifications), Google Maps Platform (address lookup), and weather data providers. Sign-in may also involve Apple or Microsoft when you choose those methods. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Content you add to a shoot is visible to others you invite to that shoot, and anyone with a shoot's view link or QR code can view that shoot on a read-only basis (plus chat). Share links only with people you intend to have access.
We may disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ReelVenue, our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information as described below. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as recordkeeping and fraud prevention.
5. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
- Request access to, or a copy of, your personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for professional use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. International Users
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you consent to processing your information in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice within the Service.
